Product Overview
This PLA modification dedicated granulation production line is a high-end integrated system that integrates precise batching, efficient mixing, underwater pelletizing and fully automatic control. Designed specifically for the biodegradation modification, reinforcement and toughening, and functional masterbatch preparation of polylactic acid (PLA), it can meet various demanding requirements such as food grade and industrial grade, and is the core equipment for achieving high-performance and functional production of PLA.

Biodegradation modification: Production of fully biodegradable blend granules such as PBAT/PLA and PBS/PLA.
Performance enhancement: Manufacturing reinforced PLA composite materials with added fillers such as calcium carbonate and fibers.
Functionalized masterbatches: Prepare masterbatches with functions such as UV resistance, oxidation resistance, color resistance, and antistatic properties.
Recycling and regranulation: The recycling, modification and regranulation of PLA scraps or products.
Introduction to the production line process
Raw material batching → automatic feeding → twin-screw melt blending → extruder head → underwater pelletizing → dehydration and drying → vibrating screening → finished product storage
Core components and technical features of the system:
1. Precision feeding system
Multiple loss-in-weight feeders are adopted, specially designed for the precise proportioning of powder (PLA), granular materials, and trace additives (such as auxiliaries and color masterbatches).
High-precision sensors and closed-loop control systems ensure that the feeding accuracy error is ≤0.3%, guaranteeing the stability of the formula and the consistency of the product.
2. Co-rotating twin-screw extruder (core)
Modular design: The screw adopts a building block structure, and the cylinder is an open design. The screw combination and process can be flexibly adjusted according to different PLA formulas to achieve the best shearing, dispersion and distribution mixing effects.
Strong plasticizing capacity: High-torque and high-speed design ensures that PLA and various additives are fully melted and homogenized.
Precise temperature control: Each barrel section adopts imported intelligent temperature control modules (electric heating + water cooling) to achieve precise temperature control within ±1℃, preventing thermal sensitive degradation of PLA.
Excellent material: The core of the screw is made of 38CrMoAlA alloy steel, and its surface is treated with nitriding, which is wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. The cylinder body adopts bimetallic alloy bushings, which have an extremely long service life.
3. Underwater pelletizing system
uniform particle shape: Specifically designed for PLA materials with high melt viscosity, the produced particles are uniform, smooth, and free of tailing. The size is selectable (commonly 2-4mm), and it has excellent fluidity.
High-efficiency cooling: As soon as the melt strip leaves the die head, it is immediately cut by the rotating blade and rapidly cooled and set by the circulating water, effectively preventing the adhesion and thermal oxidation of PLA particles.
Stable operation: The pelletizing speed and extrusion volume are automatically linked to ensure consistent particle length.
4. Dehydration, drying and screening system
Centrifugal dehydrator: Efficiently removes the vast majority of moisture from the surface of particles.
Vibrating fluidized bed dryer: Hot air is introduced to thoroughly dry and cool the particles, ensuring that the moisture content of the finished product is extremely low (optional, crucial for high-humidity areas).
Vibrating screen: Automatically separates qualified particles from overly large or too small crushed particles to ensure the purity of the finished product.
5. Intelligent control System (PLC + HMI
Centralized control: The key parameters of the entire line (temperature, rotational speed, torque, pressure, and feeding volume) are integrated into the touch screen human-machine interface, making operation intuitive and simple.
Formula storage: It can store hundreds of mature process formulas, which can be called up with one click and production can be switched quickly.
Interlock protection: It is equipped with automatic fault alarm and shutdown protection functions to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.
Data traceability: An optional data recording system can be equipped to record the parameters throughout the production process, facilitating quality traceability and analysis.
